Conferences
The University of Illinois offers conference travel grants for Illinois undergraduate students. The conferences themselves may also offer travel funding for students.
The following is a list of some conferences at which undergraduate research in mathematics can be presented—either through talks or posters. Undergraduate IML scholars are strongly encouraged to participate in conferences.

The following is a list of several journals that focus on publishing undergraduate research in mathematics. Undergraduate IML scholar are encourage to submit their work for publication.

- Matlab is available at no charge to University of Illinois students. MATLAB can be installed locally, as well as accessed through a browser (https://matlab.mathworks.com/). More information, including step-by-step installation instructions can be found in the Illinois Webstore: https://webstore.illinois.edu/shop/product.aspx?zpid=4105. Everyone at the University of Illinois System can access over 75 self-paced online courses on a variety of subjects in science and engineering using MATLAB at MATLAB Academy: https://matlabacademy.mathworks.com/?page=1&sort=featured.
- NCSA Virtual Machines (Jupyter notebooks) are available at no cost for research purposes. An IML group that used it in Fall 2024 reported that it ran much faster than on their own machines. See also Illinois Computes for the range of services available.
